Jie He, Ed.D.

Senior Director of Academic Initiatives and Institutional Effectiveness

Dr. He brings over 20 years of experience as an educator and higher education administrator across public, private, and for-profit settings. She has held progressive leadership roles throughout her career, most recently serving as the Director of Academic Quality, Effectiveness, and Enrichment at Capella University. In this role, she oversaw learning assessment, program evaluation, co-curricular assessment, 25 programmatic accreditations, the writing center, doctoral publication review, the research skills center, and the degree success program. Her collaborative, results-driven leadership significantly enhanced the university’s data-driven evaluative culture, program quality, and student success.

Before her tenure at Capella University, Dr. He held various roles in student advising and international student success at Michigan State University and Augsburg University. She also has experience teaching English as a foreign language in China.

Dr. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Southwest University Foreign Language School in Chongqing, China, a certificate in teaching pedagogy from York University in Toronto, Canada, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum from Michigan State University, and a Doctor of Education in Performance Improvement Leadership from Capella University. Additionally, she is a certified IDI (Intercultural Development Inventory) Administrator and Prosci Change Management Practitioner.
