Led by vice president and Dean of Global Engagement, Dr. Julie Ciancio, the Department of Global Engagement develops and maintains Westcliff’s global connections through a variety of partnerships and in-bound exchange opportunities.

Online Cohorts
Online cohorts are groups of students who participate in live online WU classes that are delivered at a time that is convenient for them in their time zones.

Current OCP Partners
An Italian university that specializes in international education and applied languages, with a focus on interpreting, translation, and related fields. It offers a personalized, student-centered approach to education, allowing students to design their own academic paths by combining specializations with language proficiency.
Academic Partnerships
Academic Partnerships are articulation agreements for transfer credits to Westcliff University. All programs can be completed either online or on campus.
- Progression Agreements can be 3+1, 2+2, 1+1, etc.
- For bachelor’s degrees, Westcliff can accept up to 75% transfer credits.
- For master’s degrees, Westcliff can accept up to 50% transfer credits for its programs in Florida, Texas, or online
- For doctorate degrees, Westcliff can accept up to 50% transfer credits.
- 48-credit doctorate that can be completed in a little over two years
- 60-credit doctorate with one area of concentration that can be completed in around three years

General MOU
A General MOU is an agreement between a partner institution and Westcliff University to provide opportunities for inter-institutional exchanges and cooperation. The two institutions agree to encourage exchange of faculty, staff, and students for research, teaching, or study. Students pay the tuition fees at the university where they are taking courses. Westcliff isn’t able to do reciprocal student exchanges. Participants are responsible for their own expenses, including but not limited to: housing, utilities, insurance, travel, food, cultural events, etc.

High School Progression
- High school students can take WU online General Education courses during their senior year of high school
- Students can significantly decrease the time required to earn a bachelor’s degree
- Credits earned at Westcliff can be used towards earning a Westcliff undergraduate degree online or on campus in the US
- Westcliff credits can be transferred to other universities, if the student wishes to pursue their bachelor’s at another institution
Affiliate Institutions
An Affiliate Institution (AI) is a collaborative agreement between Westcliff University and another university or college to offer WU programs on-ground locally. Students who complete their program at a Westcliff AI receive their diploma from Westcliff University.

Exchange Opportunities
J1 Cultural Exchange
J-1 is a non-immigrant cultural exchange visa. The Exchange Visitor is required to return home upon completion of the program. The time spent in the US can range from a few days to up to 5 years. J-1 Exchange Visitors can be accompanied by their families as dependents with a J-2 visa upon meeting the eligibility criteria. Through the J-1 exchange, participants gain practical experience to help reinforce their academic carriers while improving their knowledge of American culture. Whether you’re a professor, research scholar, specialist, short-term scholar, or student, the J-1 visa categories open doors to a world of opportunities, allowing you to engage in impactful roles that bridge cultures and foster global understanding.

Customized Short-Term Program (STP)
WU Short-Term Programs are customized experiences that offer deeper insight into a variety of topics within business, education, or technology. Some examples include: Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technologies, Cybersecurity in Banking, or Leadership & Communication. An STP can be organized for groups with a minimum of 20 people. The cost of the customized STP is based on the desired program components (i.e tourism, site visits, hotel, airport pick up and drop off, meals, duration, etc).
