Embracing Colors and Cultures: Student Life Attends Holi Festival
Westcliff University’s Student Life recently took part in a colorful celebration of the vibrant festival of Holi, set against the picturesque backdrop of Redondo Beach, Calif. With hues of joy and cultural camaraderie, the event marked another example of Westcliff’s commitment to embracing diversity and fostering a sense of belonging among its student body.
Westcliff prides itself on fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity in all its forms. The Holi Festival provided a platform for students to share their cultural traditions and embrace the mosaic of identities that make up the Westcliff community. Student Affairs Manager, Tayler Henslick, expressed, “Students loved being in an environment that celebrated their culture, and bringing new people into that experience made it all the better. Holi was a blast, and we can’t wait to go back next year.”
For some attendees, this was their inaugural Holi experience, and the excitement was palpable. Against the backdrop of the sun-kissed beach, students immersed themselves in the revelry, dousing each other with vibrant colors and spreading infectious laughter and joy. It was a moment of cultural exchange and connection, where students bonded over shared experiences and forged lasting friendships. One student in attendance said, “Stepping into Holi is like entering a realm of vibrant colors and contagious laughter, where unity and joy paint the atmosphere.” As the festivities unfolded, students eagerly shared their favorite songs and dance moves, inviting newcomers to partake in the exuberant celebrations.
